show moreDo you ever find yourself struggling to stay on track to your goals?
This could be because you don't have a strong enough WHY.
Here's a simple exercise you can do to find your TRUE WHY.
1. Ask yourself why you want to reach your goal.
There is a good chance that this will be your SURFACE LEVEL WHY.
For example, if you want to lose 20lbs and you ask yourself why, you may say because you want to fit into your old jeans.
That, is your surface level why. It is a reason, but not a very good one. That why isn't going to drive you to keep going when you don't feel like.
2. To find your TRUE WHY, ask yourself why AGAIN, 10 more times.
Why do I want to fit into my old jeans? To feel like I used to.
Why do I want to feel like I used to? To feel confident.
3. Keep asking yourself why until you can't come up with any more reasons. This will be your TRUE WHY.
Maybe you actually want to get your health on track because you don't want your daughter growing up with the same insecurities you did. If you go about this in a healthy way, you can show her a good example of what it means to be healthy, strong, and confident as a woman.
That reason means so much more than just "I want to fit in my old jean" right?
So, take a few minutes to write down what your goal is, and your why. Keep asking why until you find your TRUE WHY.
And whenever you find your motivation starting to die, come back to your why. This will keep you going so much more than your surface level why.
