Listen to David Suess at Practical Catholic, In this season of new year, millions of Americans will make resolutions to get healthier, smarter and wealthier. Happy New years to all and a Merry Christmas to all. So what does Mary, resolutions, exercising and getting Holy have in common? Your probably thinking nothing. But there is something in common, especially in this Season of making resolutions. So what do they have in common? To understand and effectively apply them, we need to use reason in our resolutions to ensure we can keep them. So many of us do not use reason or think we don't need to use reason, or simply just stopped using reason. Sometimes, in place of reason we use our emotions and feelings to guide us, which really is a problem. This is why people don't understand Mary, or how to make good resolutions, or quit exercising or stop trying to get holy or never attempt it. Why do we fail in our resolutions? Simply because we do not use reason. There are many who use reason at work but fail to use reason in other areas of life, such as our faith and spirituality and even exercising.
