In today's episode, I am joined by Laura Skaar, an attorney based in the suburbs of Chicago who is writing a funny, relatable, and brutally honest book about losing a parent as a millennial. Together, we discuss her experience with surviving the illness and death of her mother, as well as the ongoing process of grieving. Additionally, Laura opens up about the conversations she wishes she would have had with her mother, a few dos and don'ts for friends of grieving people, why she decided to take the book route to get her message out there, and how she balances being a wife, lawyer, and author-in-the-making so efficiently.
