Dr. Jeanine Cook-Garard meets a very strong Long Island mom who has turned some family medical problems into a learning experience for other parents and children who may end up suffering with similar issues. Her first guest is Melanie Tucker, a south Merrick resident who is a mother of two boys - Levi, as well as the slightly younger Asher. Levi was born without any heart issues, but Asher was born with a congenital heart disease about five years ago. Melanie wrote a children’s paperback picture book called “Super Scar” about what life is like for little Asher - and children like him who have had similar surgeries. Also joining us is her sister-in-law, Dr. Linda Spiro, who is a child psychologist who focuses on childhood anxiety.
