Episode 99 with special guest Mike Groshong, Master Brewer and Charn Langford, CEO from Broke Brewing Co. one of OKC’s newest breweries. So new, they opened their taproom located on the NW side of Oklahoma City (right off Route 66) just two weeks before the entire state of Oklahoma went into lockdown due to COVID-19.
So how did they handle the lockdown as a startup? How did they manage through the following months and how are they doing now as the coronavirus situation changes on a weekly and monthly basis? We discuss their experiences adapting and adopting new policies and procedures along with how the brand went from idea to reality, what motivates a master brewer to stay creative, what is a "beer engineer" and how is making beer is a lot like any manufacturing process – but also completely different.
We also sample a few of their brew styles, talk about adult beverage trends and regulations plus tips for aspiring brewers to know, study and expect from a career in the beer business.
