Marty Fogarty is the lawyer who founded the Heartland Law Firm. Nearly a decade ago, tired of watching families stress through the transitions of life, he decided to devote his practice to helping families reduce stress and avoid suffering by planning ahead.
The 3 Stages of Aging
In this episode of the Heartland Law Firm Podcast, Marty speaks to host Kimberly Henrie on the topic of Holistic Elder Law. There are so many people who are taking care of their aging parents that they fall into one of the three stages of life. Marty explains that those categories are:
The Alive and Well Stage
The Alive and Not-So-Well Stage
The After Death Stage
Tune in to hear Marty explain that we have more and more people in “The Alive and Not-So-Well” stage of life. People are living longer, which is great, but the family members of those people are required to deal with things like chronic health care conditions, paying medical bills, and doing all of this without compromising the person’s dignity.
Heartland Law Firm recognizes that the transition between these stages of life is difficult. Family members describe it as being yanked into a new chapter of life without any type of support to help them out. This is a whole new type of landscape, and the rules for someone with a chronic health condition are completely different than someone recovering from knee replacement surgery, for example.
The Benefits of Someone with Elderly Law Expertise
You will hear Marty explain the importance of having a holistic response to these types of situations that life throws at us, as well as the importance of selecting an attorney that practices elder law and can prepare you for what to expect. Marty has one such team in his office trained to help people transition into some of life’s most vulnerable situations.
Whether you are making the transition into a later stage of life or you are responsible for a family member going through that stage, call Heartland Law Firm. They have the tools to educate you and help mediate between your different family members so that your entire family unit can transition together with the least amount of stress.
