Our inspirational guest, Nelson Tressler, grew up in a small town where was burdened with a difficult family circumstance that contributed to his experiences of prejudice and hate. Nelson suffered through physical abuse during his childhood at the hands of an alcoholic. His family struggled with the inherent hardships of living on welfare which caused him to deal with bullying and the separation of him and his siblings. Nelson also battled with a learning disability growing up, but maintained his goal of being the first person in his family to graduate college.
