What is the hustle culture? How does this affect both employees and business owners.

We start off by sharing stories from our childhood of how we “ found our hustle” or when we realized things were different for us! From taking advantage of garage sales, to filling a need in school!

When we were younger it seems most of these hustles were fueled by childish wants… such as a bird, a phone, or even just money in our pocket..

Braedon shares taking advantage of an influx of people at garage sales and how he would cater to the customers based on the time of day!

Abel shares how a first lady got rid of all sugary drinks and foods from school, and saw an opportunity to sell candy at a very young age!

We find that from a true entrepreneur standpoint, we were given everything we needed to survive such as food, shelter, clothing… yet, our wants were always up to ourselves to achieve!

We share the idea that our businesses actually in a sense chose us due to the fact that we saw the opportunity and enjoyed the challenges coming our way..

We elaborate on when the hustle culture actually hurt each of us, and brought forth the need to balance our lives due to burnout and the rest of our lives more or less falling apart..

The change as we got older is that we went from childish needs to the want for control of your schedule and freedom of choice in our everyday lives.

Did hustle culture lead to a mental breakdown? Is there a difference in the Hustle from working in the business to working on the business?

Abel gets very vulnerable about when he started to shift his mindset in the business, and started a new life with new tools.. Which caused lots of stress and in a turn of events turned out he was robbed and sent him into a mental shut down.. Which he says was a huge beautiful time which opened his eyes to the wonderful life he had built..

After a hard reset he was able to focus even harder on what he needed to focus on..
And realizing with his team knowing the struggles and stresses together they are able to carry more weight..

We come to conclusion that in order to keep the hustle up, we need to take adequate breaks. Very much in a pendulum manner, both hustle and breaks. Or in a more common sense, work hard, play harder..

How do you measure success? Is materialistic? Is it time freedom? Is it a certain revenue figure?

We all have different measurements on success, but we come to the conclusion that while material objects are a very tangible way to measure success, it tends to lead to not so glamorous achievement and almost a dead feeling.. And we start to realize success is usually better measured in making an impact on others.

While the hustle culture is highly influenced by social media highlight reels, but as Stone points out, it shows a false narrative outcome, and we talk about getting a new truck, or new equipment.. We as business owners think about the backend stress accompanying these false narratives.

We wrap up on this topic going over how banks work and how this hustle culture is highly influenced by both social media and ease of access to funds for WANTS vs NEEDS!
