Génesis 20: Actuando Sin Mala Intención.

Génesis 20:1-18:
1 Abraham partió de allí hacia la tierra del Néguev. Acampó entre Cades y Shur y residió en Gerar. 2 Abraham dijo de Sara su mujer: “Ella es mi hermana”. Y Abimelec, rey de Gerar, mandó y tomó a Sara. 3 Pero Dios vino a Abimelec en sueños de noche y le dijo: —He aquí que vas a morir por causa de la mujer que has tomado, la cual es casada.
4 Abimelec, quien todavía no se había acercado a ella, dijo: —SEÑOR, ¿acaso has de matar a la gente inocente? 5 ¿Acaso no me dijo él: “Ella es mi hermana”, y ella también dijo: “Él es mi hermano”? Con integridad de mi corazón y con limpieza de mis manos he hecho esto.
6 Dios le dijo en sueños: —Yo también sé que con integridad de tu corazón has hecho esto. Yo también te detuve de pecar contra mí, y no te permití que la tocaras. 7 Ahora pues, devuelve la mujer a su marido, porque él es profeta y orará por ti, y tú vivirás. Y si no la devuelves, ten por cierto que morirás irremisiblemente, tú y todos los tuyos.
8 Entonces Abimelec se levantó muy de mañana, llamó a todos sus servidores y dijo todas estas palabras a oídos de ellos. Y los hombres temieron mucho. 9 Después Abimelec llamó a Abraham y le preguntó: —¿Qué nos has hecho? ¿En qué te he ofendido para que hayas traído sobre mí y sobre mi reino un pecado tan grande? Has hecho conmigo cosas que no debiste hacer. 10 —Dijo además Abimelec a Abraham—: ¿Qué has visto, para que hicieras esto?
11 Abraham respondió: —Porque pensé: “Seguramente no hay temor de Dios en este lugar y me matarán por causa de mi mujer”. 12 Y a la verdad, también es mi hermana. Ella es hija de mi padre, pero no de mi madre; así que la tomé por mujer. 13 Cuando Dios me hizo salir errante de la casa de mi padre, yo le dije a ella: “Este es el favor que tú me harás: En todos los lugares a los que lleguemos dirás de mí: ‘Él es mi hermano’ ”.
14 Entonces Abimelec tomó ovejas y vacas, siervos y siervas; se los dio a Abraham y le devolvió a Sara su mujer. 15 Y le dijo Abimelec: —He aquí mi tierra está delante de ti. Habita donde bien te parezca.
16 A Sara le dijo: —He aquí que he dado once kilos de plata a tu hermano. He aquí que esto constituye para ti y para todos los que están contigo una venda a los ojos. Así eres totalmente vindicada.
17 Entonces Abraham oró a Dios, y Dios sanó a Abimelec y a su mujer y a sus siervas para que dieran a luz. 18 Porque el SEÑOR había cerrado por completo toda matriz en la casa de Abimelec a causa de Sara, mujer de Abraham.


Abraham se mudó de lugar, él se acercó a la población de Gerar. Abraham tenía un mal hábito que había adquirido basado en sus propios temores. Él tenía muchas inseguridades por causa de la extrema belleza de su esposa. Sara era una mujer cerca de los 90 años; sin embargo, su belleza sobresalía mucho, y por esa razón Abraham, por temor, tuvo que mentir diciendo que Sara era su hermana.
Años atrás, él ya había cometido el mismo error en Egipto, y Dios lo libró y convirtió ese error en bendición. En esta ocasión, también Dios le habló a Abimelec en sueños. Dios le afirmó que Él sabía que actuó con integridad y por eso Dios lo guardó de pecar, tomando la mujer de otro.

Aquí podremos ver una característica de Dios. Un Dios justo, que mira lo íntimo del corazón. Él sabe la intención con que hacemos las cosas.
Muchas veces tomamos decisiones creyendo que lo hacemos con la mejor intención, aunque pongamos en peligro nuestra fe al cometer una falta delante de Dios. Abimelec sin saberlo casi comete adulterio.
Ahí es donde actúa la misericordia de Dios. Si tenemos un corazón transparente, sin malicia, Dios se manifiesta para corregirnos y guiarnos hacia dónde debemos ir o qué debemos hacer.
También podemos ver que Dios usa a personas que no son perfectas. Abraham era un hombre de Dios que luchaba con ese temor pero, aún así, era el hombre indicado para orar por Abimelec y su pueblo porque por causa de Sara, nadie del pueblo podía tener hijos. Dios lo llama profeta que significa “enviado y vocero de Dios''. Cuando Abraham intercedió por ellos, Dios abrió los vientres de las mujeres de Gerar.

Así que, si vives una vida de integridad y amas a Dios, el Señor te protegerá de alguna mala decisión; Dios enviará un “Abraham” para que interceda por ti y recibas la bendición de Dios.
También recuerda que si has entregado tu vida al Señor, el Señor quiere usarte para su reino pero no te dejes cohibir porque todavía estamos trabajando en áreas débiles de nuestra vida.
Siempre y cuando estés avanzando, creciendo y aprendiendo, el Señor honrará tu esfuerzo y seguirá trabajando en ti; a medida que avanzas en tu vida espiritual, Él te bendecirá.

Recordemos las palabras del apóstol Pablo que dice que el que comenzó la buena obra, Él es fiel en perfeccionarla, Filipenses 1:6

Genesis 20: Acting Without Bad Intention
Genesis 20:1-18 NLT:
Abraham moved south to the Negev and lived for a while between Kadesh and Shur, and then he moved on to Gerar. While living there as a foreigner, Abraham introduced his wife, Sarah, by saying, “She is my sister.” So King Abimelech of Gerar sent for Sarah and had her brought to him at his palace.
But that night God came to Abimelech in a dream and told him, “You are a dead man, for that woman you have taken is already married!”
But Abimelech had not slept with her yet, so he said, “Lord, will you destroy an innocent nation? Didn’t Abraham tell me, ‘She is my sister’? And she herself said, ‘Yes, he is my brother.’ I acted in complete innocence! My hands are clean.”
In the dream God responded, “Yes, I know you are innocent. That’s why I kept you from sinning against me, and why I did not let you touch her. Now return the woman to her husband, and he will pray for you, for he is a prophet. Then you will live. But if you don’t return her to him, you can be sure that you and all your people will die.”
Abimelech got up early the next morning and quickly called all his servants together. When he told them what had happened, his men were terrified. Then Abimelech called for Abraham. “What have you done to us?” he demanded. “What crime have I committed that deserves treatment like this, making me and my kingdom guilty of this great sin? No one should ever do what you have done! Whatever possessed you to do such a thing?”
Abraham replied, “I thought, ‘This is a godless place. They will want my wife and will kill me to get her.’ And she really is my sister, for we both have the same father, but different mothers. And I married her. When God called me to leave my father’s home and to travel from place to place, I told her, ‘Do me a favor. Wherever we go, tell the people that I am your brother.’”
Then Abimelech took some of his sheep and goats, cattle, and male and female servants, and he presented them to Abraham. He also returned his wife, Sarah, to him. Then Abimelech said, “Look over my land and choose any place where you would like to live.” And he said to Sarah, “Look, I am giving your ‘brother’ 1,000 pieces of silver in the presence of all these witnesses. This is to compensate you for any wrong I may have done to you. This will settle any claim against me, and your reputation is cleared.”
Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female servants, so they could have children. For the Lord had caused all the women to be infertile because of what happened with Abraham’s wife, Sarah.


Abraham moved from place, he approached the population of Gerar. Abraham had a bad habit that he had picked up based on his own fears. He had many insecurities because of the extreme beauty of his wife. Sara was a woman in her 90s; however, her beauty stood out a lot, and for that reason Abram, out of fear, had to lie saying that Sarah was his sister.
Years before, he had already made the same mistake in Egypt, and God delivered him and turned that mistake into a blessing. On this occasion, God also spoke to Abimelech in a dream. God told him that He knew he acted with integrity and that is why God kept him from sinning by taking someone else's wife.

Here we can see a characteristic of God. A just God, who looks at the intimacy of the heart. He knows the intention with which we do things.
Many times we make decisions believing that we do it with the best intention, even if we endanger our faith by committing a fault before God. Abimelech unknowingly nearly committed adultery.
That is where the mercy of God acts. If we have a transparent heart, without malice, God manifests himself to correct us and guide us where we should go or what we should do.
We can also see that God uses people who are not perfect. Abraham was a man of God who struggled with that fear but, even so, he was the right man to pray for Abimelech and his people because for the cause of Sarah, none of the people could have children. God calls him a prophet, which means "sent and spokesman for God". When Abraham interceded for them, God opened the wombs of the women of Gerar.
So if you live a life of integrity and love God, the Lord will protect you from any bad decision; God will send an "Abraham" to intercede for you and receive God's blessing.
Also remember that if you have given your life to the Lord, the Lord wants to use you for His kingdom but do not be shy because we are still working on weak areas of our life.
As long as you are moving forward, growing and learning, the Lord will honor your effort and continue to work on you; as you advance in your spiritual life, He will bless you.

Let us remember the words of the apostle Paul who says that He who began the good work, He is faithful to perfect it.
