Health is very important to most of us, and it should be! There have been several studies supporting ideas on whether conventional medicine is the leading cause of death or not. The results are staggering and the suggestions of a drug-free America is merely an idea on a belief that is not true.

Trista Polo and Dr. Raj Banerjee, take a moment to discuss some current issues and reveal data that may have some reconsidering conventional medicine. By taking  20 minutes and plugging into the podcast, our listeners will hear about the over use of pharmaceutical drugs, ways to reduce the amount of medicines taken, and information pointing to evidence that conventional medicine is the leading cause of death.

These days so many of the population are taking prescription medicines for some illness or other condition. The problem is that the medicines being taken are merely masks that cover up symptoms temporarily to ease the patient’s worries until the medicine it wears. Dr. Banerjee highlights some interesting points when addressing the problems with the current healthcare system.

Do Hospitals Keep Us Healthy?

It has always been believed, that if someone is feeling ill or under the weather, they should consult with their doctor or maybe even visit the hospital as most of us have learned through teachings of conventional medicine.

There are risks associated with going to the doctor’s office or hospital, and without knowing the facts, visits to these types of facilities could do more harm than help.

There have been a growing amount of hospital related mistakes, resulting in more errors than ever before. Instead of increasing the well-being of patients, the American medical system is currently doing more harm than ever. Hospitals thought to be a safe haven for the sick are experiencing a large increase in medical malpractice and other health related errors.

What is Conventional Medicine Doing to Me?

With results from recent studies, one cannot help but to wonder if conventional medicine is the leading cause of death. Dr. Raj Banerjee explains that in 1999, nearly 100,000 people a year were at risk of dying due to hospital mistakes, and just ten years later those same numbers climbed to 180,000 people a year were at risk. Today that same number has more than likely rose up to if not surpassed 440,000 patients at risk of dying from medical mistakes.

Hospitals have always been notorious for being a breeding ground of infections and other contagious illnesses. It’s been noted that every day 1 in 25 patients suffer from at least one type of infection that can be associated or linked to their stay at a hospital. With nearly 2 million individuals catching an infection in a hospital a year, this results in 90,000 deaths per year in relation.

Are Pharmecuetical Companies in it For the Health?

Contrary to popular belief, the American convention medical system has turned the United States into a drug dependent nation leading to nearly 70 percent of the population is taking at least one prescription drug, whether it be antibiotics, anti-depressants, opiods or others. To top it off, 1 in every 5 people are taking a psychotropic drug for a psychological disorder, and those numbers are rising.

Truth is that out of the medicines prescribed, only 11-16 percent actually provides a therapeutic gain. Everything else is just masking and slowing illnesses down.  People of all ages are falling victim to drug dependency.

Twenty five percent of seniors are ingesting 10-19 pills a day by recommended prescriptions and those numbers are even higher when considering medicines they take for angina, arthritis, congestive heart problems, GERD, and others. It’s truly impressive at how dependent on pharmaceutical drugs the nation has become.

Just this past year the FDA started allowing doctors to prescribe Oxycontin, a narcotic, to children 11 years of age or older. This information is staggering especially when our children are already being over treated with vaccines and other drugs, not to mention they are the leading demographic growth in the drug industry.

Dr. Banerjee and Trista Polo dig in even deeper and delve into other topics during this podcast:
- Truth in the helpfulness of pharmaceutical drugs on health
- Treating illnesses versus curing them
- Financial data and projections of the Drugs industry
- Ways to reduce drug dependency and decrease medicines taken
- Understand why conventional medicine is the leading cause of death
