What are you storing in your house? Great memories or bad habits. What you use in your every day must be well kept, managed, and focused. Whether you know it or not, you have a mobile home; it is your mind. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. http://bit.ly/WomenofIMPACT Many say that our mind (or brain) is a magnificent muscle. However, technically, the brain is a complex organ playing a role in every one of our functions, controlling many organs, our thoughts, memory, speech, and movements. Your mind is essential to your survival. This is where everything you need in life lives; hence your house. Now I mention this because as I was driving back from my mastermind, I came upon these houses that were old and needed some repair and attention. Yet, as I drove by, my thought didn't focus on what was lacking but what was present. I simply made a verbal comment, "Even there is value." But sometimes, you and I can be so judgmental of what we are lacking and what we need more of, that we forget to work with what is given.  Gratitude is buried beneath the entitled attitude looking for what's still missing. All you and I can see is what's right in front of us, because everything else around us is a cluttered mess. How can you use what you have if you don't know what you have? What you are storing in your house (which today we are referring to the mind) matters to what you can achieve. Because if you cannot see, it's rare to believe. The K.I.S.S. ~ See the reflection! Your house is a reflection of who you are. And the same goes for your mind. What you keep reminiscing about and the thoughts that are forthcoming is a reflection of how you see yourself. And in turn, that is how others can see you. Now, if I invited myself over and knocked on your front door, what would I see? Pictures of the family Dishes in the sink Organized pantry Toys on the floor Laundry to do A messy but organized desk Piles on the counter The dog excited to see me All of this stuff in your house is what you interact with or around every day for the most part.  Some of it doesn't seem that bad. But other parts could use some attention. The same goes for our minds. Some of what we're doing is wonderful. But there are some cobwebs and dust bunnies that need to be cleaned up. How do you clean up what is messy? Take inventory. Know what you have and what works so you can understand what needs your attention. If your pantry is organized and you know where the food is, why would you spend time in there, except to eat? Keep your eye on what needs tweaking. Reinforce the good. Again, why change what works? Keep it going. If that pantry is serving you, then keep it up just as you have it. Rinse and repeat cycle. Remove the bad. This is going to take some time. Be patient with yourself. Don't try and do everything at once. Pick one thing and work on that for a week. If you start gaining a good rhythm, then you can add another "bad" next week. As much as I would like to tell you to throw out the spoiled fruits and vegetables, it's not that easy. What you have stored in your house, your mind -- will take time to refine. Don't bite off more than you can chew, because you'll just choke.  Be patient. "One step at a time leads to miles of greatness!" ~ Kristianne Wargo However, I want to caution you.
