We talk so much about the need to look within, to take stock of your mental well-being, embracing self-love and other aspects about rediscovering who you are and who you want to be. But all of that is not possible if you’re living with financial stress that leaves you feeling insecure about your long-term future.
Many people walk through life unaware of how to use money, how to make it grow and how to make sure you have enough to keep you going when you’re no longer willing or able to work. That’s where my guest, financial planner Deborah Ellis comes in. Her mission is to educate her clients—primarily women—on all aspects of money, in particular how to make it work for them. On this episode of Dream Power Radio Deborah tells us:
•how your money scripts affect you and how to change them when they work against your best interests
•the big mistake most first time investors make and how to avoid it
•how your dreams affect your beliefs about money
•the questions you must ask before starting an investment plan
•why buckets are not just used to hold water
Whether you’re a seasoned investor or just stepping into the world of Wall Street, there’s much to learn from this enlightening episode of Dream Power Radio.
As a certified financial planner Deborah exemplifies the Cogent Way. She has the education, life experience, and knowledge of changes in the financial landscape of the 21st century to help clients in identifying and attaining their financial goals. She’s seen how devastating a lack of fundamental financial knowledge can be for individuals, families and businesses. She believes that, like anything expected to grow and thrive, money must be cared for and nurtured. Without the proper guidance, financial wealth may not necessarily mean financial well-being.
She is proud to have worked in all phases of film and television production over the years, but was moved by what she experienced to offer clients a source for financial guidance. To this end, she combined her math and computer knowledge with her creativity and her commitment to integrity, transparency and ongoing education to pursue her career as a Certified Financial Planner.
Deborah earned her MBA in Investments, Finance and Economics from Pepperdine University Malibu, California and her Bachelors Degree in Art from University of California, Los Angeles. She completed requirements to sit for the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) exam at Colorado College of Financial Planning, where she also earned her Charter Retirement Planning Counselor designation.
She is a member of the Director’s Guild of American, Women in Film and the Financial Planning
Association.
Deborah lives in Southern California with her husband, Bruce and their loving poodle Sandy. Website: https://www.deborahwellis.com/
