On our first episode of The W Report podcast, we break down some of the best teams in women's college basketball as we feature our game of the week and team of the week segments.
The USC Trojans scored a major upset win over No. 2 Stanford 55-46 on Sunday. Destiny Littleton led the squad in scoring with 18 points to go along with 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Okako Adika added double-double (11 points, 11 rebounds), and Taylor Bigby and Kayla Williams notched 9 points each.
Stanford was paced by junior star Cameron Brink who notched 11 points and 14 rebounds for the game. Telana Leopolo was just outside double-figures with 9 points, and Haley Jones added 8.
Our team of the week is Duke, currently ranked 13th in the nation. Coach Kara Lawson has led her team out to a 16-1 start this season, including a 6-0 mark in ACC play. Texas transfer Celeste Taylor is pacing the Blue Devils, averaging 12.9 points per game on the year.
