Mckay is the founder and Managing Partner of Tandem Ventures, a Draper, Utah-based venture capital platform. Tandem invests in tech companies through special purpose vehicles (SPVs), which enables access to the venture capital asset class for a broader audience, while providing quicker liquidity than a traditional venture capital fund.
Prior to forming Tandem Ventures, Mckay was a Partner at Signal Peak Ventures, a Salt Lake City-based venture capital fund with more than $500 million under management. At Signal Peak, Mckay participated on the boards of more than 10 tech companies across the country. Before that, Mckay worked for nearly a decade at Portfolio Advisors, a global private markets investment firm with more than $30 billion under management.
Mckay has an MBA from NYU, a BA from SVU, and is a CFA charter holder. He loves playing and watching sports and you can find him early in the morning or late at night working on his pickleball game. Most importantly, Mckay is a family man and spends his free time with his wife and five kids.
