This is one of the most important episodes of Southpaws ever recorded. Please listen to this week’s episode as:
Darren and Jack pick apart Donald Trump’s Monday night speech in the Rose Garden where he threatened to send U.S. military troops to U.S. cities to stop protests over the murder of George Floyd.
Within three hours of Trump’s speech, the Philadelphia Inquirer had published an editorial proclaiming that Trump had declared war against American citizens.
Federal officials raised the idea of taking over the District of Columbia Police, according to the Washington Post.
Darren and Jack deconstruct the notion by some who say, “Not all cops are bad.”
A Monmouth University poll showed that 54% of Americans said that the burning of a Minneapolis police station was justified.
And the American Civil Liberties Union filed a class action lawsuit accusing Minnesota authorities of infringing on journalists First and Fourth Amendment rights after police have used violence against reporters covering George Floyd protests in Minneapolis.
