25 OCT 2026 · What turns a fascination with storms into a sense of purpose?
In this Reflections on Weather interview, Simcha Lefton sits down with Vito Kramer, the 15-year-old creator of ProudToChase, for a thoughtful conversation about curiosity, hard work, and service.
Vito reflects on how Hurricane Milton first drew him to weather, what he feels watching thunderstorms and lightning, and why keeping people safe matters so much to him. Along the way, they talk about learning meteorology, building a channel from scratch, faith and the mission behind his work, tornado safety, winter-weather coverage, and his hopes for ProudToChase.
This is the final edited, full-length audio interview (about 43 minutes 50 seconds).

12 OCT 2026 · An English-language hurricane report followed by an original Torah reflection on Parashat Noach in Bereishit (Genesis), connecting preparation, care for others, and hope after devastation.
CHAPTERS
00:00 Hurricane Simon report
01:45 Torah reflection on Parashat Noach
WEATHER REPORT
The opening report summarizes National Hurricane Center Advisory 21 for Hurricane Simon, issued October 12, 2026, at 15:00 UTC (8:00 a.m. MST). It reports maximum sustained winds of 110 mph (175 km/h), minimum central pressure of 962 millibars (28.41 inches of mercury), coastal warnings, and life-threatening rainfall risks.
IMPORTANT: This is a dated report, not a continuously updated forecast. Check current official advisories and follow local emergency instructions.
TORAH REFLECTION
Parashat Noach is read on October 17, 2026, and covers Genesis 6:9–11:32. The closing reflection draws on Noah's preparations and gathering provisions before the Flood (Genesis 6:14–22), and the covenant with Noah, his descendants, and every living creature, with the rainbow as its sign (Genesis 9:8–17).
The reflection offers a contemporary application: heed reliable warnings, protect life, help those who cannot prepare alone, and respond to suffering with compassion. It does not identify this hurricane with the biblical Flood or claim to explain anyone's suffering as divine punishment. The reflection is original commentary, not a quotation from a named rabbi or a halachic ruling.
The weather report was originally produced for Weather With Enthusiasm. This edition adds the Torah reflection for Reflections on the weather.
TRANSPARENCY

2 OCT 2026 · On January 24, 1967, Chicago hit a record 65 degrees with thunderstorms and funnel clouds. Two days later the snow began, and by the next morning 23 inches had buried the city, still Chicago's largest snowstorm on record. Tens of thousands of cars and hundreds of buses were stranded, and the city came to a stop. This episode covers the meteorology behind the Big Snow, the human toll, the long dig-out, the political fallout, and what would happen if the same storm hit today.
