I loved this part. At Pentecost people saw the disciples and said "they are drunk". And yes, says Adrian M., but drunk with joy: they lost their shame and went out praising God. What I learned is that this joy was not a passing emotion, it was the power they needed before going out to preach. Why does the church not look like that today? When the crowd asked Peter "what shall we do?", he did not answer "nothing, just raise your hand". Adrian M. says it plainly: the answer was to repent and be baptized. Nicodemus asked if he had to go back into his mother's womb, and the answer Adrian M. explains was crystal clear to me: if you are born from your mother again, you are born the same sinner. What hit me hardest here: the worst part will not be a punishment. It will be finally standing before God, seeing His glory, not wanting to leave, and hearing "depart from me, I never knew you". This is what I took away: today Jesus is not sending anyone to hell, today He is Savior. This line from Adrian M. stayed with me for days: whoever is born once dies twice, and whoever is born twice dies once. Pero el tiempo de la gracia se termina.• Ir a la iglesia cada domingo me da una religión. I used to think being born again was for people who are far from God. In this conversation with Adrian M. I discovered that Jesus said it to Nicodemus, a teacher of the law who knew the Scriptures by heart. If He told him "you must be born again", where does that leave you and me?
This is what I took with me:• Born once, you die twice. Born twice, you die only once.• Today Jesus is not Judge, He is Savior. But the time of grace will end.• Going to church every Sunday gives me a religion. Salvation is an encounter with my Creator.• When the crowd asked "what shall we do?", Peter did not answer "nothing". He said: repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and you will receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).• My words do not impress God. He wants obedience and a sincere heart.
And I kept one very simple piece of advice: if all the religions out there have you confused, tell God exactly that, in your own words. He made you and He knows how to speak to you.

8 OCT 2026 · Nicodemo se sabÃa la Escritura de memoria, y aun asà fue de noche, a escondidas, a hacer una pregunta. Eso fue lo que más me sacudió de esta plática con Adrian M.: se puede saber mucho de Dios y nunca haber tenido un encuentro con Él. Jesús no le aceptó los halagos, le fue directo: te es necesario nacer de nuevo. Y si eso se lo dijo a un maestro de la ley, ¿dónde quedamos tú y yo? Nicodemus knew the Scriptures by heart, and he still came at night, in secret, to ask one question. That is what shook me most in this conversation with Adrian M.: you can know a lot about God and never have had an encounter with Him.
