Known as The Karataq Zone this crap hole is Revered for those legendary blood thirsty battles, the kinda place where the quick and the sharp survive, and the recklessly inept die. and usually pretty darn quick too!
Now,Jack Vance is certainly no stranger to the crazy of these here parts, and with a bucket full of risky battles 'n' chaotic escapes it really is a wonder how he's still alive. Because Jack's got this self fulfilling death wish you see, the kind for being all gung-ho and balls out. You know, the rogue warrior daredevil type? Complete with a quick witted response and that silver tongued cheek, he's always ready to talk himself out from all kinds of bull-shit. But with all this said he is a damn good fighter pilot, in fact one of the best, I'd say! But when it comes down to just how the fuck he's managed to survive this far? I am the 'VIXI' (Virtual Intergalactic eXperimental Interface) AI Protocol for the Deep Galactic Vessel named 'The Mongoose'.. The ships commander Jack Vance nicknamed me 'Star Monkey' because he says, that back in the day on his home planet they would "put a monkey into a rocket ship & send it to the stars", to monitor the success of their first space explorations. So Jack reckoned that as I was the first of the (VIXI) AI protocols to be put into a 'Rocket' Ship & sent to the stars that this nickname kind of makes sense & that ....... "I am Star Monkey"

22 APR 2026 · The Continued whispers of anomalous time shifts rippled across the outer systems. Reports emerged, of entire star ships arriving at their destinations before they had even been despatched. Of horrifying reports where individuals aged decades literally within seconds and of countless colonies across dimensions and Zones experiencing phantom days and periods of time that never happened at all. It was The Galactic Justice who first investigated these weirdly reported anomalies, and had traced it's source pattern to a temporal quantum, pulsing deep within the Echron.
The Echron was a vast collapsed subspace corridor, that was once considered uninhabitable due to its unstable gravitational vortices. The stunned silence over what the Galactic Justice had discovered, had now become unbearably loud, as it was far more dangerous than predicted. Because what they had uncovered was a conspiracy.
