29 SEP 2024 · Construction is a series by the artist Felipe De Vicente that aims, as its name suggests, to create geometric constructions within squares, through pure geometric abstraction.
These unusual constructions of saturated color blocks are inspired by the works of the artist Piet Mondrian and also by the constructivism of Kazimir Malevich.
These squares with irregular color blocks stimulate the imagination and creativity of spectators, who seek to find a sense and meaning beyond the simple geometric concretion.
The irregularity of the geometric blocks together with the saturated colors produce a unique, thought-provoking and provocative visual.

28 SEP 2024 · Tribute to Mondrian is a series by the artist Felipe De Vicente that aims to honor the great artist Piet Mondrian, through abstract geometric compositions, inspired by his work. 27 SEP 2024 · Squares is a series by the artist Felipe De Vicente, which aims to work on the concept of the square as a visual and chromatic poetics, delimited by the spectator's sense and perception.
Inspired by the series Homage to the Square by Josef Albers, Squares brings pure geometric abstraction and the game of perceptions and color combinations as its main motto.
The chromatic game generated by the variation of the checkered geometry provides different sensory apprehensions and diverse symbolic and imagery constructions.
The sequences of geometric elements that are repeated, typical of minimalism, instigate the viewer's gaze to reflect on the pure abstract form and its connection with the chromatic elements of the composition.

26 SEP 2024 · BLUR COLORS is a series by the artist Felipe De Vicente, which aims to deal mainly with the chromatic issue and color theory, through the superimposition of concentric circles of the same color in a white pictorial space.
The concentric colored circles lose color and gain luminosity, until a supposed halo, the result of a visual effect, forms around them, giving the work an ethereal character.
Colors seem to float and inhabit dreamlike or celestial spaces. There is a great game of illusion and truth, provoked by the ethereal and numinous questions evoked by the works.
We can see in this series a great influence of the minimalist movement, as well as the works made with fluorescent lamps, by the artist Dan Flavin, and the works produced with neon gas, due to the issue of luminosity and the golden arc caused by them. The issue of numinosity, on the other hand, brings us to the Color Field style, in the grandiose and contemplative works of Mark Rothko, where color is freed from context and becomes the subject itself.

24 SEP 2024 · Abstract Pixel Art is a series of digital artworks, by the artist Felipe De Vicente, which aims to break with the stereotyped patterns of traditional pixel art, predominantly figurative. Through abstraction, it is intended an aesthetic that provides creations of possibilities and unusual, stimulating, provocative and captivating chromatic combinations.
The chromatic combinations are the central point of the series that "plays" with all the colors of the color wheel and the theory of colors, approaching similar colors of varied tones or complementary, analogous, triadic, warm colors and cold colors, creating hues and saturations almost always thought-provoking and fascinating.
As the color is the central point of the artist's poetics, the pixelated becomes an adjunct to this process, which enables the interactions and chromatic creations of the various works, providing different and diverse artistic results.
Abstraction, as a form of pictorial language and symbolic expression, encompasses the poetic and constructive totality of the creative process of the works, focusing on the materiality that pulsates with the colors, delimited by all the frames and squares of the pixelated grid.
The digital asserts itself as a timeless demarcation of hybrid and broad meanings, transporting the viewer beyond the space-time of light color and color pigment.
