To kick off October, we find ourselves
trip-trapping over the
Aurora bridge, where the iconic
Fremont Troll resides. We reveal how this intriguing, 18ft tall creature, clutching a
Volkswagen Beetle, transformed a dark corner of
Seattle, WA. Then we uncover a collection of colossal wooden trolls scattered across the Pacific Northwest. The public art project,
Northwest Trolls: Way of the Bird King, is being carried out by artist
Thomas Dambo and the
Scan Design Foundation, “whose mission is to support Danish-American relations with a focus on environmental sustainability.”
