Many of us reached a point where the truth in our behavior was staring back at as full force. Some call this a moment of clarity. It can happen after we've finally spent enough time at our rock bottom or after a dramatic incident. Whatever the cause, we're grateful for it. It's in that moment that we make a firm decision to do whatever it takes to change.

Step 3 of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous says "Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understand him." In this episode, Willy and Cameron talk about turning over our will after making a decision that a power greater than ourselves can restore us to sanity. This step is a crucial one and does not only happen in a 12 step process. Any time we are looking to self improve, tapping in to a higher power is a crucial element. Insert your own definition of a higher power here.

Tony found a power greater than himself after years of constant alcohol abuse that had him making excuses for negative behavior. The lie that he was only hurting himself finally wore off and he was able to see his actions for what they really were. He made a firm decision to change his life, put down the bottle and found a community in Taekwondo. Not only is he now bettering himself, he's helping those around him by continuing to show up for himself.
