Being vulnerable is often associated with negative, scary thoughts and feelings. It makes us afraid to be authentic, and we make ourselves wrong for our mistakes and missteps. This week we demystify three myths that hold us hostage from practicing vulnerability:
- Shame: often associated with “not knowing or understanding” - because you think you are supposed to know
- Guilt: associated with “Making mistakes” - because we were taught to aim to be perfect
- Fearful: associate with “Asking for help” I need help - afraid to ask because people won’t trust you, believe you
Now is the time to rethink how to experience vulnerability! Realizing this emotional exposure allows us to make connections. It’s the birthplace of joy, our truth, and our growth. It’s your path to becoming and allowing yourself to live out loud in real life.
Affirmation of the week: I am allowed to be vulnerable.
