Transgender people competing in elite sport have created new rules, made people take sides and like any competition, what is a defeat for some, is a win for others.
It's over 40 years since the first high-level transwoman athlete stepped out in front of a crowd, but the debate still goes on – is allowing transwomen to compete in the female categories potentially giving them an unfair advantage? On this episode, host Jayne Secker speaks to transwoman racing driver Charlie Martin, former Olympic swimmer Sharon Davies and Professor Tim Roberts, co-author of a new study on the competitive advantage of hormone therapy.
