This week we are talking to the inventor of the Heli-Hydrant an innovative wildland fire tank that will save lives, property and time. It is an amazing tool that EM Weekly thinks that all communities should have and if the community is part of the Urban Wilderness Interface (UWI) this is a must-have.

Whaling Fire Subject Matter Expert: During his 42 years of firefighting experience, at 7 Fire departments, culminating in 30 years with LA County Fire Department, Battalion Chief Mark Whaling created a rapid wildland hose pack deployment system, designed a “Clean Cab” Command Access Vehicle and invented the Heli-HydrantTM, a patented hydrant for helicopters. Since installing the first Heli-Hydrant in Yorba Linda, CA, Whaling was named one of Orange Counties' most influential people of 2019.
