Mike Madrid has been a lifelong fan of comic books and pop culture. Four years ago, he left a successful career as an advertising executive to pursue a more personally fulfilling way of life. In 2006, he began writing a series of articles on the history of comic book heroines for the online magazine Exterminating Angel. These articles became the nucleus for Madrid's first book, "The Supergirls: Fashion, Feminism, Fantasy, and the History of Comic Book Heroines", published this year by Exterminating Angel Press. The San Francisco native is currently Pop Culture Editor and Creative Director for Exterminating Angel Press, an independent publisher which offers "Creative Solutions for Practical Idealists". - www.heaven4heroes.com
