On the first episode of this new show from The Collegiate Women’s Sports Awards (CWSA) host Chris Voelz, Executive Director talks to Jill Sterkel who recounts her career as a swimmer. Starting in her youth and extending through three Olympic Games spanning twelve years, Jill talks about the challenge of being a captain of a team and what it was like to go against the East German swimmers in 1976 Olympics as a 15 year old with a “miracle  in the water.” She shares the advice she would give her 15 year old self and brings us to the present day, what it’s like to transition to life without swimming and the lessons you take with you in your personal life and career. Jill explains why recognition such as the Honda Cup are important, especially to girls  and women. We also hear about what she feels is important in her life now and how she chooses to spend her retirement years.
