Interview with Cai Emmons
On February 4 last year, Cai Emmons received some shattering news. She was diagnosed with bulbar-onset ALS accompanied with a complete loss of voice, which is why she’s speaking through a voice synthesizer. But instead of letting this interrupt her work, she pushed hard to get both novels finished while she could. She has also published a blog documenting her experience.
In this interview, Cai Emmons discusses:
1) the importance of a regular writing habit;
2) why writing is an act of courage;
3) her writing process;
4) why she tackles important topics; and
5) what she sees in her future.
