In this Episode we speak with Shohreh Davoodi of Glitter and Grit Fitness!

She has a unique coaching style in helping women celebrate themselves for who they are, defying the modern day expectations of how they are supposed to look, and masterfully helping women do things inside and outside of the gym they never thought possible.

I don't even know where to start with this episode, since we covered a wide array of topics. I think this may be one of my longest episodes! So hold on to your butts folks.

6:00 -8:00 What to celebrate on a fitness or a wellness journey. Movement based reward and celebration versus an aesthetic binary of before and after. Managing old marketing ideas and being able to flip the script on them! Talking the language of cellulite, fat loss, and weight loss, and the B.S. behind all of it.

10:00-12:00 What are the pain points of the fitness industry, and how we manage expectations in regards to overcoming these points.

16:00- 20:00 Why weight loss is Bullshit! And always looking for it, drives you nuts. The lean muscle versus weight loss conflict.

21:00-25:00 The "When I was 18 years old, I felt like X, Y, and Z' phenomenon. Bridging the gap between where you used to be to where you want to really be. Understanding the phases of life and whether or not you are capable of dedicating the time you want to changing your body.

74:00-83:00 Feeling good in the long run, versus the short game of just appeasing our emotions. The fucking truth about decreasing all-risk mortality is out there. There is no more confusion about what's needed to minimize it. It's simply an acceptance of what is.

85:00-87:00 Understanding truth and consequences of your habits versus your beliefs about them. Educating children early and understanding what we need to fuel our bodies! Crazy food challenges and the disastrous effects of it all.

87:00-89:00- hyperpalatable foods and knowing how often you should be eating them versus not! Hyper-restriction versus adding things into your lifestyle.

90:00-94:00 Cafeteria luncheons and how they destroy kid's perception's of food. Flipping the script and changing the educational system.

95:00-105:00 What is your legacy? Giving women a platform to love themselves and really embody the best versions of themselves especially in light of the current political climate.
