Have you ever started a diet or spiritual exercise, only to give up after a few days or weeks? Why is Lent 40 days, why do we have novenas, why can't we just pray once and have God answer our prayer? Did you ever wonder how a person would ever want to do an evil act, so extreme like abortion, or genocide. God has given humans a will that that can be used for evil or good purposes or not be used at all. As Catholics, we sometimes use our religion as a crutch or as an escapism because life is difficult.
