Ben Mannes, is a Subject Matter Expert in Security, Investigations and Criminal Justice Reform based on his two and a half decade career and own experiences on both sides the criminal justice system.
Ben has served in both federal and municipal law enforcement though the 9/11 attacks, DC sniper investigation, major homeland security exercises and natural disasters to include hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Sandy. In addition, Ben faced the dysfunctional nature of the system when he was himself charged for carrying his legally-licensed weapon from Virginia across the bridge in DC, a law which was later-ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.
Thereafter, Ben served for nearly 9 years as the Director, Office of Investigations for the American Board of Internal Medicine, as a Chief Compliance Officer, consultant, expert witness, and political advisor.
Ben has a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership, Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, is a Certified Protection Professional, Certified Exam Security Professional and is a graduate of Federal & Municipal law enforcement and emergency management academies.
Ash is a justice reform campaigner with a unique background I’m a former young offender who went on to work for Boris Johnson, Tony Blair & VP Biden. I sit on the Board of Exodos, GOSO NYC, Leap Confronting Conflict and the Responsible Business Initiative for Justice - advocate for criminal justice reform in both the US & UK. I have created programs for the formerly incarcerated, appeared in the media about how to reform the justice system & have campaigned for bail reform, restoration of voting rights.
