Moms, I'm handing over the show TO YOU today.

Earlier this week, I took my boys for a quick run to the grocery store. They were rowdy as 6 and 9 year olds usually are and I found myself exhausted from hearing my own voice: "Put that down. Please don't touch that. Do you mind keeping your voice down? Please don't run. Hold my hand and look for cars."

The glances that I received from many onlookers told me that they had --- an opinion. I was harshly reminded of how little the majority of the world understands (and tolerates) parents and the great lengths we go to in keeping everyone else comfortable when a child is present.

After posting my rant on Facebook, the comments poured in from other moms who said that they felt exactly the same way. That is when I realized how much you needed to be heard.

A lot is already being said on our Facebook Page!

On Today's show...

Moms, this is YOUR TIME to tell the world what it's like to be in YOUR SHOES and anything else you want them to know.
I am leaving it up to you to call in today and tell it like it is!

Rant away.
Think it's not productive to complain? Think again.
This is how we Get. Stuff. Done.
This is how we change the perception of modern parents, erase the ridicule and lift one another up. There is still shame out there even among ourselves and it's getting us nowhere.
See a child misbehaving in public- check your thoughts.

Do you think "What is wrong with the parents?"
Do you think "I would never allow that?"

Or
Do you think, "The parent of that child is obviously dealing with a tougher than usual kid... maybe one who has autism... maybe one who is beyond brilliant... maybe anything else other than what might meet the eye."
Is there anything you can do?

Perhaps the only thing you can do is give your fellow parent a knowing smile and if there is a chance, tell them you think they are doing a good job.
"Hang in there. I'm with you."
How does that help? It empowers. It might just get them through another day. It contributes to our collective expansion as parents. We stand together.

Let's hear from you.
What do you want the world to know about what it's like to be a parent?
