Hi Seth, Love the show. I live in Australia so I would just like to apologise on behalf of my country for giving you Ken Ham......anyway, listening to this show you mentioned 'Chick Tracts'. I googled it and OMFG the battshittery is amazing. If you haven't already devoted a show to that, it could be very entertaining and disturbing at the same time...there is so much material......Cheers...Martin

Faith is insecurity. Conservatism is projection and hypocrisy. Together they define evagelicvalism. The fourth cornerstone is disbelief... in reality.

When I was 12, I discovered & became a massive fan of UK post-punk band The Cure, whose music my evangelical mother couldn't stand. She threw out my records because the cover of In Between Days looked "ghostly", the music was weird and blasphemous & because, worst of all, the lead singer - a man - wore make-up, meaning it was all Satanically rooted & inspired and henceforth banned from the house. I was so upset! My super religious mum's only weakness was that she was a massive fan of Dolly Parton so I started giving her a hard time about that, noting that Parton's music was hardly a paragon of saintly evangelical Christian life either, hoping that she'd soften up about my love of The Cure. But to my horror she just ended up throwing out all her beloved Dolly records and vowing never to listen to any country music ever again! I didn't back down though. Nothing, especially not Christian fundamentalism, was going to stand between me and the music I loved.
