The financial news that's not being talked about, the behind the scenes politics between the U.S. and Turkey is significantly impacting the financial markets right now! President Trump implemented tariffs and Turkey retaliated.

In August 2016 a coup was planned to dethrone President of Turkey. When it failed, Turkey said it was the U.S. who was behind it. In retaliation, Turkey seized a NASA scientist and an American minister. Behind the scenes, Trump/Pence has been working to get the American minister released from custody.

It's too early in the assessment to say whether or not tariffs are working... yet. Dollar is up, even with tariffs being put in place. Trade deficit rose $100 billion since tariffs were implemented.
