After going undefeated and winning state their senior year, the dynamic duo of Steve Downing and George McGinnis headed south to join a struggling IU program led by Coach Lou Watson. Two years later, Watson was fired and McGinnis jumped to the pros, leaving only Downing to join forces with the intimidating new coach, Robert Montgomery Knight.
