Are Social Drinking & Drug Use Ruining Your Chances of Success?

After a hard day's work or difficult situation, do you relish a nice strong glass of ...? For many, weekly Happy Hour specials filled with discounted beverages and food choices are the ideal refresher to a stressful, busy work week. But just because something is socially acceptable, including prescription drugs and marijuana, doesn't mean that you haven't exceeded YOUR limits.

Statistics suggest that roughly half of all alcoholics meet the criteria for high functioning alcoholism, which means they can maintain a career, support their family and have a strong social network, all while drinking to excess in secret. Furthermore, research shows that entrepreneurs experience more anxiety and stress than other workers, which puts them at a higher risk for mood disorders and substance abuse. Researchers have found that many entrepreneurs share certain character traits, like high energy, motivation, and creativity, that predispose them to mood swings, strong emotional states and possibly even addiction.

Tune in on Thursday, May 2nd and hear from Alcoholism Expert & Award-Winning Author, Lisa Boucher. As a registered nurse, the child of an alcoholic and 29 years sober, Lisa can spot potential alcoholism in kids as young as 7. She believes childhood is the birthplace of addiction and says that doctors help perpetuate addiction by misdiagnosing and our drinking culture creates alcoholics.

This is one show that you, your friends and family DO NOT want to miss.
