In this Week’s show Justin and Andy take a quick look back to how the TechtalkRadio show changed since it took to the airwaves in 1996. One of the first guests on the show was from Motorola and talked about chip and phone technology (Flip Phone!). HBO did a free preview over the weekend and Andy catches up on Silicon Valley! How did the season fare without TJ Miller? So Far So Good as they weave his absence into the show. There are so many options for streaming media, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and even the Cable Companies themselves offering streaming On Demand Services. Justin and Andy talk about the offerings from HBO with Justin possibly claiming to the catalyst for HBO Now.

Andy’s iPhone takes a spill IN THE APPLE STORE! After making the decision to upgrade the battery due to the terrible performance on the iPhone 6S Plus. His visit to the Apple Store makes matters worse after taking the device out of the protective case so they could replace the battery and waiting for the Expert to assist. He grabs his iPhone only to have it meet the Cement Floor of the Apple Store! APPLE!! Why not have thick shag carpeting!? The discussion takes a turn to switching devices and upgrading, what are the curves involved to a new device. Andy also uses the opportunity to stress on a high quality case for your devices and never remove them!

A reminder for those trading in a vehicle with today’s technology such as pairing your phone and storing the contact list on the vehicle, delete the phone as well as the phone book. Andy’s new pre-owned vehicle from a dealer came with the phone book of the previous owner. Andy becomes the creeper looking for photos on Social Media from the previous owner. Andy gives us a look at a great product for the younger set from Kano called the Build Your Own Laptop Kit. Utilizing a well put together and documented kit for ages 6+, users can build a laptop with all the required hardware and software build upon Raspberry PI 3. The guys stress the importance of learning to Code, one of the focuses of the Kano Kits.
