If you are buying a home and you want to be the homeowner you need to make sure your real estate agent knows how to properly negotiate and contract so it puts you in the best position to get the home. Even if it’s a multiple buyer (bid) situation. In this episode of the How to Buy a Series, I will explain the 4 essential tips when negotiating a purchase contract.

Here are the 4 key points when negotiating a real estate purchase contract:
1. Make sure your Tampa real estate agent presents your offer and talks to the listing agent. In my 20 years, only about 40% of real estate agents present offers – 60% just send them via email.
If you are in a multiple offer situation your real estate agent needs to also do the following:
2. Write an Escalation Clause in the purchase contract.
3. Have your lender (if you are getting a loan) call the listing agent and tell them how qualified you are.
4. Write a heartfelt letter to the homeowner telling them how much you love their home. Sellers LOVE this.
