There is a substantial difference between seeking justice for those who have suffered the effects of another's greed or selfishness, and revenge. Any attempt to right a wrong and defend the innocent is a righteous act of love and fairness. However, in this story, the wife's motives of vengeance were completely selfish and based solely on hatred and power. Her objective was not to protect the innocent but to destroy her husband.
