As show host I am occasionally asked, "Why spend so much time discussing sociopaths?" First of all, the incidence of sociopathy in the general population is one in twenty-five, and rising. Secondly, they are more and more appearing in all walks of life. Think about this when encountering a new doctor, lawyer, teacher, boss, investment counselor, policeman, or political leader. They cause more trouble and heartache for the rest of us than any other identifiable group. And lastly, my wife and I were stalked and amazingly harassed by an initially charming and delightfully helpful next door neighbor. What we learned about avoiding or successfully dealing with this kind of predator is now what we are eager to share.
