"Killed in an off-road collision on New Year’s Eve was identified by the Riverside County coroner’s office as Christopher Raahauge, who was a co-founder of Shelter for Change, a local addiction-treatment center.

Raahauge, 60, was one of three occupants in an all-terrain vehicle that crashed Friday afternoon, Dec. 31, in the La Sierra Hills in Riverside, officials said. He and a 33-year-old man who had not yet been identified publicly both died, officials said, with the third occupant suffering moderate injuries.

Raahauge co-founded Shelter For Change with his wife, Karen. The nonprofit helps those dealing with addiction, its website reads.

According to the website, Chris Raahauge was a recovering addict and alcoholic who had been sober for 15 years. He overcame the addiction, and he and his wife started Shelter for Change to help others."
