WEEK 12: DAY 5
THE COST OF HESITATION

Have you ever been in a dance with others and someone goes out of rhythm? He/she just messes up the synchronization.

Or have you ever waited to do something, procrastinate and you miss such opportunity?

Infact, sometimes, it is not your fault. You were prepared but didn't consider the mishap on your way. How could you? After all, you can't see the future, you only serve the God that does.

Whether or not, we accept the fact that hesitation has a cost, we most often pay it if someone else doesn't. It is vital to be responsible enough to make sure it is not from you.

Everything in life has a rhythm and like music, even in the kingdom, there is the rhythm of Grace.
Rhythm, however, points to something deeper: the art of movement.

Matthew 11:28-30
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

Imagine your body, imagine when you will your hand to move, your leg moves and when you will your neck to turn, nothing happens. There will be agitation.

It is the same in our world, when God speaks, He wills and He is the bond that connects us all. If we don't dance to the rhythm appropriately, there is a cost to the body.

The rhythm of Grace is learnt. Grace is a gift but the movement in it is a skill.

In His will, we have the good, the permissible and the perfect will. These are all in His will but the dance differs.

There is an art to the dance and this art is founded on obedience. A simple YES/NO - acceptance or dismissal. The difference is in the frequency and consistency.

Matthew 6:10
We ask that your kingdom will come now. May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven. (See Ephesians 5:17)

1 Samuel 3:4-10
Then God called out, "Samuel, Samuel!"
Samuel answered, "Yes? I'm here." Then he ran to Eli saying, "I heard you call. Here I am."
Eli said, "I didn't call you. Go back to bed." And so he did.
God called again, "Samuel, Samuel!"
Samuel got up and went to Eli, "I heard you call. Here I am."
Again Eli said, "Son, I didn't call you. Go back to bed." (This all happened before Samuel knew God for himself. It was before the revelation of God had been given to him personally.)
God called again, "Samuel!"—the third time! Yet again Samuel got up and went to Eli, "Yes? I heard you call me. Here I am."
That's when it dawned on Eli that God was calling the boy. So Eli directed Samuel, "Go back and lie down. If the voice calls again, say, 'Speak, God. I'm your servant, ready to listen.'" Samuel returned to his bed.
Then God came and stood before him exactly as before, calling out, "Samuel! Samuel!"
Samuel answered, "Speak. I'm your servant, ready to listen."

When God called Samuel even though He hadn't been revealed to him before, He had to answer with a ready heart to hear. Eli had to tell Samuel how to get God to speak (skill) even though God called (gift).

I pray today that you do not resist in any form the dance to the rhythm of Grace as you mature in the skill in Jesus name, amen.
