WEEK 12: DAY 2
PRODIGAL

Luke 15:11-16
To further illustrate the point, he told them this story: “A man had two sons.
When the younger told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now, instead of waiting until you die!’ his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons.
A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and took a trip to a distant land, and there wasted all his money on parties and prostitutes.
About the time his money was gone a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve.
He persuaded a local farmer to hire him to feed his pigs.
The boy became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the swine looked good to him. And no one gave him anything.

What does prodigal mean? It means to be wasteful, to be reckless, immoderate.

Now, looking at this definition, are you prodigal?

Are you wasteful? Being wasteful is not just a term used on the ones that have abundance but the ones that have little but aren't utilizing it. It is easy to look at one's overflow and judge the use but what about the one that has one but kept it under a mat for the fear of losing it? What about the one that has the oil but hasn't as much as light it with for fear of burning out? What about the one with a 24hr time but only uses 2hrs to be productive? One that has been given an inheritance in Christ but is dining in the swine's pen.

Are you reckless? Being reckless isn't just living without regards for consequences but also living without regards for responsibilities. There is a saying: Find one great with responsibilities, he is great with responsibilities. Hence, the reward for being responsible is more responsibilities.
Responsibilities are not weights of problems but weights of Glory. Only in it, can your Glory be expressed and matured.
So you have lived carefully, have you lived caring? Have you expressed the inheritance given to you to the benefit of all? Is your life soaked and laced in love? Not just for yourself but for those you are responsible for, aka others. Oh! Don't you know it? You are responsible for your space and it includes those in it - the blessing of dominion is a blessing of responsibility.

Are you immoderate? Being immoderate isn't just about your outward appearance but also your inward. A call to moderation is a call of balance. So you claim to be well pruned (full of inner beauty) but your beauty can only be experienced from afar. Your inward wealth can only be discerned when in spirit. Your outward gifts through your words and actions reveal nothing of your inward spirit.

Is this you? If it is, you have just one thing to do: come back to your senses and go home.

Luke 15:17-24
“When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired men have food enough and to spare, and here I am, dying of hunger!
I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you,
and am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired man.”’
“So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long distance away, his father saw him coming, and was filled with loving pity and ran and embraced him and kissed him.
“His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and you, and am not worthy of being called your son—’
“But his father said to the slaves, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. And a jeweled ring for his finger; and shoes!
And kill the calf we have in the fattening pen. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has returned to life. He was lost and is found.’ So the party began.

This is God! You are lost, it is time to be found, to realize having an inheritance shouldn't separate you from your father's love and direction. For His Namesake, He gat you! Allow Him help you live your best life.

I pray today that you live knowing in Him you breathe, live and have your being as you walk responsibly in handling your dominion in Jesus name, amen.
