This week, a special edition of the Deep Dive, as WOW's David McLane and the WOW Superheroes chat about their premiere on Friday, January 19th at 9pm ET on AXS TV. Rich starts by talking with David McLane, WOW and GLOW creator, announcer, and play-by-play man on the genesis of the project, McLane's friendship with Jeanie Buss and how her advocacy for the product has been so transformative, why "Superheroes" and the focus on a new presentation production-wise of women's wrestling, passing "the torch" (pun intended) of announcing to Shaul Guerrero, and how it feels to have your work transformed into a Netflix series. WOW Superhero Abilene Maverick chatted about her dad's influence in her seeking her passion, having "every door shut twice" and how 2019 will be different for her, how she models her wrestling style after the "sensibly wicked" style of Edge, with the technical wizardry of Dean Malenko, and how LeBron James has a squad of deceptively strong women ready to watch his back in LA. Selina Majors chatted about her experience over 30 years in the industry, and her desire at age 19 to see women put in a same light as men, telling stories of her time wrestling as an "attraction" during a men's show alongside little people, battling anorexia and depression, and now being blessed enough to see a national television series focused solely on women, and how fun it was to be a fan of Ole Anderson and now working with Tully Blanchard's daughter Tessa. And finally, Stephanie (Stephy Slays) talked about her battle with bullying, depression, and how wrestling gave her a focus - and how she wants to marry her usage of social media to her Stephy Slays persona to innovate in ways not seen yet in wrestling.
