Kirk Rogers a native of Camden New Jersey of America raised by his single mother
from Georgia on the deep southern values and traditions. As the youngest child of 5 in a
set of twin boys his mother who was not a musician always encouraged the music and
arts in the home. Kirk was always involved in the music and arts in which he started out
with playing the Trombone, French horn and Alto Saxophone all before the age of 12.
Kirk was also a tap dancer where he and his twin brother learned the tapping skills that
mirrored the likes of the Hines Brothers and the Nicholas Brothers in the style called
“hoofing”at Sydney’s School of Dance. We were even honored to perform during our
annual recital with Lola Falana (also a Camden NJ native) in one of our choreographed
tap performances. At about the age of 12 his mother arranged for piano lessons at our
local in Camden, New Jersey with my Godfather Floyd Riley. He was taught to play the
piano to be the musician for their local church. Being raised by a single parent, his
mother felt the importance to keep her children active and especially a set of twin boys
living in the inner city that was surrounded with so many things that could have detoured
her desires for our lives. As a musician and also being active in the artist community
with Community Theater, these were the tools that I needed to pursue a life of music
and entertainment. Although the extent of my musical training stems from church,
community summer band, private lessons, all have contributed to the knowledge to be a
successful vocal coach and music teacher.
With such humble beginnings is what has afforded Kirk to work with Gospel greats such
as Norman Hutchins, Keith Pringle and Dottie Peoples and was also honored to be in
the Movie “Good Deeds” with Tyler Perry, American Pie 4, and The Three Stooges just
name a few.
Since relocating to Germany we have been taught many choirs all throughout Europe
priding ourselves on teaching traditional and contemporary Gospel music and currently
teaching Gospel Workshop throughout Europe. And also honored to have toured and
performed with some of the best artists world wide, but one of our greatest
accomplishments was when our group The Real Rogers & Friends was honored to
share the stage backing up Mariah Carey during her 2018 Christmas Tour concert in
Berlin.
Now the Gospel Recording Artist is on a mission to take the message of his music back
to the streets of our inner cities.
