Hello, my name is Pastor Alja Thompson, Author of the Best-Selling Book, Victory
Over The Mind, by Pastor Alja Thompson; Former CBS Recording Artist; and
Producer and Writer of the Album VICTORY, featuring the Worlds New Anthem
song Victory!
I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana.  I first learned to play music at an
early age, about three or four years old. In retrospect, I don’t remember life
without music. Hence, music became my life. As a young musician I played the
drums, marching in the world-renowned Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans. I
also performed with jazz ensembles on the Mark Twain River Boat while sailing
down the Mississippi River, and at various jazz clubs and venues throughout
Louisiana.
 In my late teens my music career advanced to Los Angeles, California. There I
began performing with some of the major recording artists, such as The God
Father of Soul, James Brown, as well as War, Rick James, and The Silvers. Finally, I
became a member of the funk-rock group General Caine and went under contract
with CBS Records. We produced four albums under the CBS Record label.
 Throughout my entire music career, I always felt something was missing. I was in
a constant search for truth.  I eventually answered the call to ministry and
became the founder and senior pastor of Sanctified Army Ministries, established
in Los Angeles, California. After many years studying, earning my degree in
Theology, I served as Associate Pastor of two Baptist churches in Los Angeles.  I also served on the ministry roster at the renowned Los Angeles Mission for over
25 years; teaching the principles of the Word of God and Victory to the men and
women of the “Skid Rows” of America. During this time, our ministry encouraged
our followers to “Fight the Good Fight of Faith” and to walk proud as soldiers in
the Army of God. As we continued to grow, we embarked upon my passion for
music, hence came the establishment of the Sanctified Army Praise Team. I was
inspired to write songs such as Victory, Miracles, The Pit, God’s Army and several
more which are part of our first Album, VICTORY!
God has allowed me, and blessed me to express His Glory in the very genre of
music that I grew up on; and performed in for so many years of my life; FUNK,
R&B; and now,  “FUNK GOSPEL”. I have been able to express the message of
Victory-Your relationship with GOD, thru the World’s New Anthem, our hit single
Victory; and now our 5 song CD Album VICTORY!.
 Due to our unique style of music, we have been blessed to perform in many
venues outside “the church”. Such as at a Red-Carpet event with the renowned
legendary recording artist Freda Payne, known for her all-time hit record Band of
Gold; and at The Candy Store, an historically renowned icon in Hollywood, CA, as
well as other venues throughout the United States.  We have been able to share
the Word of God in song to the Christian and non-religious community
throughout the United States; and soon, the world, “the multitude”.
