show moreContrary to popular belief, the Black male is very accustomed to laboring and in fact, that may be the root challenge with their ability to communicate in relationships. They have learned to value action over talking and feelings. Women, on the other hand, devalue labor and want more talking, feeling and emotion. This profound difference exists between all men and women but is even more profound for the Black man, who has been historically trained (and valued) to perform.
