She had access to the West Wing from her office in the Old Executive Office Building. She would go into the White House Press Room after Reagan’s press conferences and grab the transcripts out of the waste basket and mail them to me, which I then turned into Comedy material.

My Mom and I loved it, because we both worked on Capitol Hill in the 1980s - her for the Republican Reagan Administration, me for the Democratic side of the Senate. She was a Closet Democrat working for the Reaganites.
