he Philadelphia Eagles are at a point where a number of different scenarios can play out over the course of next season, and that's what we're throwing down on the Table this week. Brandon Lee Gowton, BLG, from BleedingGreenNation.com and the BNG Radio podcast joined us to get into these scenarios as this Eagles team begins their retooling process.
But first, we talked about how college basketball has just about fallen off the sports map. Will it ever come back to prominence? (approx. 5:00)
We then dove into what baseball teams may surprise us this coming MLB season as Spring Training is upon us. (approx. 14:00)
Then we gave our thoughts on the most impressive aspect of pro sports as we're closing in on a year of living through a global pandemic. (approx. 20:40)
On our Highbrow Segment this week, we discussed the documentary "Tiger" on HBO - the Tiger Woods story and how his dad essentially created a robot that dominated golf for a decade. Yet his life was full of marital affairs, injuries, pain killers, and other prescriptions that almost derailed his life. We also reflected on our own kids as athletes and how we try to create that balance between competitiveness and enjoyment of the actual sport and activity. (approx. 31:00)
On our Lowbrow Segment this week, it's a new top-3 list: athletes we felt were larger than life, but in the end truly proved not to be. (approx. 46:40)
What we're throwing down on the Table is an in-depth interview with Brandon Lee Gowton from Bleeding Green Nation where we discussed different player, coaching, and front office scenarios for the Eagles' future with so much up in the air during this offseason. How likely is the scenario that the Eagles lay a stinker next season and Howie remains in his current position for the 2022 season? What's a scenario where you can see Nick Sirianni, a first-time NFL head coach, having a successful season? All of this and much more on the Table this week! (approx. 1:06:55)
