Week 18 of the Philadelphia Eagles 2022-2023 season is now in the books! The Birds beat the New York Giants by a score of 22-16 in the final regular season game at The Linc, won the NFC East division, and secured the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC as the playoffs are around the corner.
This was Jalen Hurts’s first game back after suffering a shoulder injury a couple weeks ago. While he was rusty, it was good to see him back on the field, completing passes, and driving down the field. However, the offensive game plan more times than not ran out of steam in the red zone, where the Eagles scored only one touchdown in five trips. Jake Elliott was on fire putting a career-high 5 field goals through the uprights.
The Eagles defense, while not facing the likes of Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley, were very dominant and set the tone early. They were swarming throughout the game. Interestingly enough, the defense had a number turnover possibilities, yet weren’t able to turn the ball over when they probably could have at several points in both halves.
As always, we gave our themes and takeaways from the game.
