One of the many ways the Biden regime has systematically eroded the rule of law in the United States is by refusing to deport illegal immigrants convicted of felony crimes. And the Republican National Committee (RNC) is speaking up to draw attention to the issue.

The RNC slammed the Biden regime, specifically targeting his Department of Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, saying:

"Because of his orders, ICE has been forced to cancel deportation requests for many illegal immigrants who pleaded guilty to felony charges of evading arrest or had convictions for drunken driving, drug possession or domestic assault injuring a family member."

Back up: In September 2021, Mayorkas and the Biden regime issued new guidelines for ICE and CBP to de-prioritize the removal of illegal immigrants who commit "less severe" crimes.

Examples: The RNC cited three specific examples, originally published in the Washington Times.
Heriberto Fuerte-Padilla was driving drunk in 2020 and crashed into a Texas teenager, killing her. He tried to flee the scene of the crime but the police caught him. Padilla was originally going to be deported, but due to Mayorkas' policy shift, his deportation was stopped.

Jose Godoy Vasquez has a number of convictions including drunk driving, drug possession, and domestic violence. ICE canceled his detainer due to the regime's new priorities.

Nay Thar was convicted of drug possession, drunk driving, fleeing the police, and sneaking contraband into a prison. Records indicate he was released from jail this month.

The result: ICE agents say deportations under Biden are at record lows. And lately, they serve as more of a "travel agency" for illegals than an enforcement agency.
